Tour Iternery

  • Day 01 : Delhi - Rishikesh (By Train / Surface 265kms / 6hrs)
    Arrive Delhi
    Departure transfer to New Delhi Railways Station for express train to Haridwar. Arrive Haridwar and transfer to Rishikesh (28kms 1hr). Arrive check-in hotel/resort. After a welcome drink and acclimatization briefing about the whole program, followed by introduction to the Yoga teacher. Evening dinner & overnight at hotel.
  • Day 02 : Rishikesh (Yoga)
    Early morning drive or walk to the yoga centre for yoga class followed by relaxation of body & mind. After relaxation learn about breath awareness exercise & stretching. After yogic breakfast Evening in-house yoga & traditional meditation class with visiting instructor. Late evening visit the Ghats for Arti, dedicated to Goddess Ganga. Overnight at hotel.
  • Day 03 : Rishikesh (Yoga)
    Early morning drive or walk to the centre. Today we will do relaxation, Asana, followed up by Yog Nidra. After nutritious breakfast, day free for own activities. Optionally, you can take rafting trip or can do temple tour for half a day. Evening followed by modern meditation and class of suggestion therapy. Meals and overnight at hotel.
  • Day 04 : Rishikesh (Yoga)
    Today we'll get training for Pranayam (advanced breathing), Dynamic yoga, advance yoga postures. After breakfast drive up to Vashist Gufa. The entire drive is along the River Ganges towards the source for about an hour. Arrive and explore Vashistha Gufa (cave), where famous Saint Vasistha meditated, a perfect place for transcendental meditation. Late afternoon drive back to resort. Evening meditation & lecture. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
  • Day 05 : Rishikesh (Yoga)
    Early morning wake up for Pranayam (advanced breathing). Evening followed by meditation and curative yoga. Meals and overnight at hotel. One can take optional trip to Dev Prayag, one of the five most important confluences of Garhwal Himalayas. Arrive and explore the area. Also visit 10th centaury old temple of Ragunath Ji.
  • Day 06 : Rishikesh (Yoga)
    Early morning followed up by Vipasana class. Evening curative Yoga and meditation class. Dinner and overnight at hotel/resort.
  • Day 07 : Rishikesh - Delhi (By Train / Surface 265kms / 6hrs)
    Early morning practice advance posture of yoga & vipasna .Day free for own activities. Evening meditation and question answer session. Evening the course terminates. Transfer to Haridwar for express train back to Delhi.

Yoga, which traces its origin 5000 years ago as means of attaining union with the absolute being, has today become a part of the language of every seeker of self-realisation and physical well-being, across the world. An ancient and efficient system of disciplines and controls designed to produce the integration of body, mind and spirit. Patanjali's Yoga Sutras (c. 150BC) is the basic text on this subject, but in their present form they probably date from several centuries later. Yoga means "contemplation, communion" and "yoking of all the powers of body, mind and soul to God. The complete Yoga training is devided into eight stages: Yama (Ethical Disciplines), Niyama (Self-Restraints), Asanas (Postures & Exercises), Pranayam (Breath-Control), Pratyahara Withdrawal of Senses), Dharana (Concentration), Dhyana (Meditation) and Samadhi (Deep Meditation). What we shall practice on this tour are just basics with a little of Yama & Niyama and more of Asanas & Pranayam. The therapeutic benefits obtained by performing the Asanas are well known. The circulation of blood is improved; tensions can be removed, and a feeling of well-being induced. The muscles are strengthened, nerves soothed and physical endurance is increased. The blood vessels and nerves for the internal organs are "massaged" by the twists and bendings, ensuring proper functioning. Ageing bodies can have fewer aches and pains, stiffening of the joints can be delayed and depression allevited.
